Rev. Fr. Anas Paul Karottunalunnel has officially assumed charge as the Assistant Director of the Vijayapuram Social Service Society (VSSS), the social service arm of the Diocese of Vijayapuram. The appointment ceremony took place at 10:00 AM on February 6 at the VSSS Central Office, Amalanilayam, in Kottayam.
A joint meeting of various ‘Samyojitha’ units in the Kottayam Zone was held on Saturday, January 31, organized by the Kumarakam Samyojitha. The meeting, presided over by Vice President Jinumon K.M., served as a platform for reviewing ongoing activities and planning future initiatives.
The Vijayapuram Social Service Society (VSSS) organized a dynamic one-day leadership training seminar, ‘Thalir Grow and Lead,’ for the members of Vijay Balavedi at the Pala Guadalupe Mata Church. The event, held on January 26, aimed at nurturing the next generation of leaders within the community.
As part of the ongoing commitment to child welfare and education, a special visit was organized to the Balavedi units in the Vanavathukkara zone on January 18, 2026. The visit focused on reviewing unit activities and interacting with the beneficiaries of the ACSI sponsorship program.
A free eye examination camp was jointly organized by the Vijayapuram Social Service Society (VSSS) and the District Blindness Control Society of the Kottayam Medical College Ophthalmology Department at Chengalam St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. The camp, held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Felix Devasia Puratheparambil, Executive Director of the Vijayapuram Social Service Society. Rev. Fr. Nibin Cyriac, Administrator of Holy Cross School, presided over the function.
Rev. Fr. Felix Devasia Puratheparambil has officially assumed charge as the new Executive Director of the Vijayapuram Social Service Society (VSSS). The installation ceremony took place at 10:00 AM on January 14th at ‘Amala Nilayam,’ the central office of VSSS.
A grand farewell ceremony was held at ‘Amala Nilayam’, the headquarters of the Vijayapuram Social Service Society (VSSS), for Rev. Fr. Augustine Binoy Mecheri, who completed five years of exemplary service as its Executive Director.
Christmas Celebrations Held at Vijayapuram Social Service Society
The ‘Ashakiranam’ Pothy unit, which works under the leadership of the Vijayapuram Social Service Society (VSSS) to provide comprehensive support to cancer patients and their families, organized a Pink Ribbon Day observance and Cancer Awareness Seminar. This event was held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in collaboration with DDRC Agilus Path labs Ltd. The program highlighted the importance of the Ashakiran project, which aims for prevention, awareness, treatment, palliative care, and financial assistance.
