Peruva: Vijayapuram Social Service Society (VSSS), in collaboration with the Department of Ophthalmology, Kottayam Medical College, and the District Blindness Control Society, organized a free eye screening camp. The camp was held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the St. Francis De Sales Church premises in Peruva.
Inauguration:
The camp was officially inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Felix Devasia Puratheparambil, Executive Director of Vijayapuram Social Service Society. During his address, he emphasized the importance of eye health and the society’s commitment to providing accessible healthcare to the public.

Mr. Sadheesh C.K. Kannamparambil, PDC Secretary, presided over the function. Several dignitaries offered their felicitations, including:

Mr. V.R. Sajeevan (Ward Member).
Mr. Sajaneesh, Medical College Counselor, explained the various activities and follow-up procedures of the camp. Mr.Alfred .T. Bino, President of KCYM, delivered the vote of thanks.
Highlights:
The event was coordinated and led by PDC members. A total of 85 individuals underwent eye examinations during the camp. Necessary medications and guidance for further treatment were provided to those in need.
