KLM-Vijayapuram Social Service Society Extends a Helping Hand to Unorganised Workers
Kottayam: The Kerala Labour Movement (KLM) and the Vijayapuram Social Service Society (VSSS) jointly distributed goats and sewing machines to selected workers, aiming for the economic upliftment of those in the unorganised sector. The distribution ceremony was held at the VSSS headquarters on Wednesday, October 12, at 9:30 AM.
A total of 8 selected workers from the unorganised sector received goats. Additionally, 5 selected tailoring workers were handed sewing machines. This project offers a livelihood opportunity, enabling the workers to generate their own income.
The function, presided over by Fr. Augustine Binoy Mecheri, Director of the Vijayapuram Social Service Society, was inaugurated by Fr. Aji Joseph Cherukrakramcheril, Curia Moderator of the Diocese of Vijayapuram.
Ward Councillor Smt. Molikutty Sebastian, KLM Diocesan President Shri. Joseph K. J., and Assistant Director Rev. Fr. Felix Devasya delivered felicitations at the event.
