Kottayam: Vijayapuram Social Service Society (VSSS) fittingly celebrated Christmas, commemorating the birth of the Son of God who was born as man for the salvation of mankind. The celebration was held on Tuesday, December 23, at 10:00 AM at the VSSS headquarters, Amala Nilayam. VSSS Director, Very Rev. Fr. Augustin Binoy Mecheril, inaugurated the meeting. Kottayam Municipal Councilor Gaurishankar presided over the function, and His Excellency Justin Madathilparambil, Auxiliary Bishop of Vijayapuram Diocese, delivered the blessing speech. Mr. Benny George, Principal of St. Joseph ITI, and Mr. John Joseph, VSSS Administrator, offered their felicitations.
Rev. Fr. Felix Devasia Puratheparambil, Assistant Director of VSSS, welcomed the gathering, and Sebastian Mattathil, VSSS Project Officer, proposed the vote of thanks. Around a hundred animators from various parishes, along with the teachers and students of St. Joseph ITI, participated in the festivities. The appearance of Santa Claus, a live crib, and carol songs added color to the celebration. Christmas cake was distributed to all those who attended the event.
