Cancer Awareness Seminar Organised by Vijayapuram Social Service Society’s (VSSS) ‘ASHAKRANAM’ Project at Elakkad St. Mary’s Church Draws Attention
Elakkad: The ‘Ashakiranam’ cancer care project of the Vijayapuram Diocese Social Service Society (VSSS), in collaboration with DDRC Agilus, successfully organized a cancer awareness seminar at Elakkad St. Mary’s Church. The seminar, held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, witnessed the participation of around 110 members, highlighting the community’s interest in health issues.
The event was organized with the aim of spreading awareness among the general public about cancer and its prevention methods. Dr. Shinto M.S, a leading doctor from DDRC, delivered the keynote address at the seminar. He spoke in detail about the early symptoms of cancer, accurate diagnosis, and current treatment methods. He also answered the queries raised by the audience. DDRC Manager Justin and staff member Roshan were also present at the event.
Fr. Dominic Savio extended a welcoming note for the seminar. Ajesh, the PDC Secretary, offered the vote of thanks to all those who worked for the success of the event and the participants. The attendees expressed appreciation for the commendable activities carried out by VSSS’s ‘Ashakiranam’ project for the overall health upliftment of the society.
‘Ashaakiranam’ Cancer Seminar Draws Attention at Vayala St. Mary’s Church
Vayala: The cancer care project of the Vijayapuram Social Service Society (VSSS), ‘Ashaakiranam’ (Ray of Hope), successfully organized a Cancer Awareness Seminar in collaboration with DDRC Agilus at Vayala St. Mary’s Church. The event, held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, aimed to raise public awareness about cancer and its prevention methods.
The seminar saw the participation of about 78 members of the church. The main address was delivered by Dr. Shinto M’S, a prominent doctor from DDRC. He explained the early symptoms of cancer, accurate diagnosis, and current treatment methods, and also answered questions raised by the participants.
Fr. Dominic Savio, Vicar of Vayala St. Mary’s Church, welcomed the gathering. Justin, Manager of DDRC, and staff member Roshan were also present at the event. Sajimol, Secretary of the ‘Ashaakiranam’ Unit, offered the vote of thanks to all those who worked for the success of the program. This awareness seminar proved to be highly beneficial to the community.
