Pothy : The ‘Ashakiranam’ Pothy unit, which works under the leadership of the Vijayapuram Social Service Society (VSSS) to provide comprehensive support to cancer patients and their families, organized a Pink Ribbon Day observance and Cancer Awareness Seminar. This event was held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in collaboration with DDRC Agilus Path labs Ltd. The program highlighted the importance of the Ashakiran project, which aims for prevention, awareness, treatment, palliative care, and financial assistance.
Animator Smt. Mani Varghese welcomed the gathering. The event was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Paul Denny Ramachamkudi, Vicar of St. Michael’s Church. The designated member, Shri. John Tharappel, offered felicitations. The cancer awareness classes were led by Dr. Sinto M.S. (PhD in Cancer Genetics), Consultant Molecular Geneticist, Genomic Department, DDRC Agilus Pathlab Ltd. He shared detailed information regarding health protection and cancer prevention. More than 50 people participated in the seminar.
Ashakiran volunteers, who provide invaluable service to the community, were honoured with a Pink Ribbon during the function. Smt. Anita Prashanth, PDC Secretary, delivered the vote of thanks.
