The first phase of the nursing staff selection process for the renowned St. Joseph Old Age Home in Austria was held on February 13, 2026, at Amalanilayam, the central office of VSSS. The event, which took place from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM, saw participation from 16 candidates across various locations, including four candidates from outside the diocese.
Key Highlights:
Interviews: Mr. Christian Juranek, Managing Director of St. Joseph Old Age Home, and his wife, Ms. Waltraud Maria, personally interviewed the candidates.
Orientation: A special orientation session was organized to educate candidates on work environments abroad and the lifestyle in Austria.
Distinguished Visit: Most Rev. Dr. Justin Alexander Madathiparambil, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Vijayapuram, visited the venue and extended his best wishes to the candidates.
Leadership and Coordination:
The event was coordinated by Rev. Fr. Ginson George Puthussery, Director of Assisi Hospital, Mukkoottuthara. VSSS Director Fr. Felix Devasia Puratheparambil and Education Corporate Director Fr. Antony George Pattaparambil were also present.
Authorities confirmed that the next steps in the recruitment process for the selected candidates are currently underway.
