A PLAT FORM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHILDREN

As the aim of the society is the development of the poor and marginalized families due to socio-economic and educational backwardness, the members of Vijay balavedi are the children from such families. It is possible to bring them to the mainstream of society only through special consideration and encouragement. They do not get a platform anywhere else to resolve such backwardness.
Vijayapuram Social Service Society envisages Vijay balavedi as a platform for the children for their entire development. It gives opportunity to get together and help them to galvanize their inherent potentialities which can improve their self confidence. We organise different programmes to develop their social, educational, cultural and intellectual status.
It is operated in village level and the members are the children from ten or fifteen neighbouring houses. The members are in the age group of 5 to 15 years. Children will come together once in a week and conduct meeting and discussions on various topics related to children on the basis of news in the medias.
Activities
Unit Meetings
Unit meeting will be presided over by the President. The meeting commences with a prayer. The secretary will present the report of previous meeting or programme conducted, followed by welcome speech.
The time after presidential address is for discussion. Children will point out and discuss about the issues related to them or against to child right from the news appeared in media during the week. If there is no such issues children will plan for an outreach programme such as to visit the elderly people in the village, visit to some govt. offices to learn its function .etc. In some meetings children will conduct quiz competition based on their curriculum subjects.

- Day of observations like environment day, Anti- tobacco day, Child labour day,..etc
Monitoring and Evaluation: There is a monitoring committee for each Balavedi unit which will be led by the Animator appointed by VSSS for the social action and each Animator will present an evaluation report in every month during their monthly reporting session.
The children and their parents involved in this programme are already become the advocates of this developmental journey due to the conviction that only if today’s children are brought up with vision, a value-based society can be born tomorrow.
Life Skill Development: During this summer vacation life skill development training is being conducted at 30 villages. All members are advised to participate in the training.
