The beautiful high range district of Kerala known for its Mountainous Hills and Dense Forests is a major operational area of Vijayapuram Social Service Society. The area was largely unexplored and covered with thick forest. Although the focus of the diocese  in these area was spiritual, the diocese joined the civil authorities and private agencies in building up the district through the various programmes of Vijayapuram Social service society – setting up infra structure facilities, schools, rural dispensaries  production centres etc.

When we launched Animation programme promoting decentralised and people centred development, community centres became the need of the time. Thejus Kuttikkanam and Munnar regional centres were built for our target group to come together, think and plan together for their development. These centres are open for likeminded NGOs too for their meetings, seminars, and workshops and programme implementation.  Later the regional centre Munnar is came to known as AC MIST Munnar.
